DEKRA Certification

Tested. Not just claimed.

Most Faraday bags promise shielding. TOCA had it independently measured. Tested by DEKRA Testing and Certification according to IEEE 299-200, with an average shielding of over 60 dB across the full range of 0.2 to 14 GHz.

The Result

Passed. At every tested distance.

DEKRA tested the Sleeve with payment cards, transit cards, and a smartphone in card emulation mode. In every case, no reader was able to scan through the closed case, at distances of 0, 1, and 2 centimeters.

By the Numbers

What 60 dB really means.

Decibels are a logarithmic unit. 60 dB is not 60 percent. It means the signal strength is reduced to one millionth.

Of one million parts of the original signal, less than one passes through the fabric. That's exactly why the shielding works where simple RFID films have long since become permeable.

The Fabric

Shieldex Bremen RS. Made in Germany.

Manufactured by Statex in Bremen. A ripstop fabric made of 82 percent polyamide and 18 percent pure silver. The silver-coated fibers form a continuous, conductive Faraday cage around your device. The same fabric that DEKRA tested is in every TOCA No Signal Sleeve.

Frequently Asked Questions

What you want to know.

Are TOCA bags really independently tested?
Yes. The shielding technology of the TOCA Signal Sleeve was independently tested by DEKRA Testing and Certification. The test report bears the number NIE 73153RNF.001 and was issued on December 5, 2022. Measured according to IEEE 299-200 over the frequency range of 0.2 to 14 GHz.
What does 60 dB shielding mean?
60 dB means a reduction in signal strength by a factor of one million. Less than one millionth of the original signal passes through the fabric. In the high frequency range of 5 to 14 GHz, the value is even above 62 dB.
Which signals are blocked?
When closed, the Sleeve blocks cellular (3G, 4G, 5G, LTE, GSM), Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, GPS, and RFID and NFC at 13.56 MHz.
Does the certification apply to all TOCA products?
The test report refers to the TOCA Signal Sleeve. The same tested shielding technology and the same fabric, Shieldex Bremen RS, are used throughout the entire No Signal Sleeve product range.
