A Faraday cage is an enclosure made of conductive material that completely shields electromagnetic fields. English scientist Michael Faraday proved this in 1836: he built a room lined with metal foil and discharged high voltages on the outer wall. Using an electroscope, he demonstrated that no electrical charge was measurable inside.

No. In airplane mode your device doesn't actively transmit data — but it still receives. You can still be tracked via GPS, for example. Only complete physical shielding (the Faraday principle) prevents both transmitting and receiving entirely.

In a relay attack, two thieves work together: Thief A stands near your vehicle, Thief B approaches your key (e.g. at your front door or in a restaurant) with a signal amplifier. The amplified signal tricks the car into thinking the original key is right beside it — the car unlocks and can be started.

The device won't actively transmit data, and the pouch blocks all incoming signals. Result: complete electromagnetic isolation in both directions.
